Nasir Al Naimi
Nasir K. Al Naimi was appointed Business Line Head (A) – Upstream in September 2020. His responsibilities include exploration, petroleum engineering, drilling, oil and gas operations, unconventional resources and upstream research and development.
In September 2016, Mr. Al Naimi was appointed Vice President, Petroleum Engineering & Development and in December 2015, he was appointed Vice President of Corporate Planning. In May 2012, Mr. Al Naimi was appointed Vice President of Northern Area Oil Operations which oversees all oil and gas fields in the northern part of Saudi Arabia, in addition to the Shaybah field in the Rub’ Al-Khali desert.
In 2010, he was appointed as Executive Director of Pipelines, Distribution & Terminals. In 2009, Mr. Al Naimi was appointed General Manager of Southern Area Producing. In 2007, he was appointed Manager of the Terminal Department and took on several acting assignments as Executive Director of Industrial Services. In 2004, Mr. Al Naimi became Manager of Mechanical Services Shops Department after he worked as Manager of Marine Department in 2003.
In 2001, Mr. Al Naimi was relocated to New York to take up the position of Manager, Marketing Services for Saudi Petroleum International Inc. (SPII). In 2000, he was appointed Senior Marketing Manager of Product Sales & Marketing Department after he worked in Crude Oil Sales & Marketing then Product Sales & Marketing in 1997.
During his early career with Saudi Aramco, Mr. Al Naimi joined the Petroleum Engineering Professional Development Program, and assumed various supervisory positions in production engineering of major oil fields including Safaniya, Zuluf and Marjan offshore fields. In 1994, he was assigned as Operations Superintendent for Zuluf Offshore Producing facilities, then Abu Ali Producing facilities. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Southern California in 1985.
Mr. Al Naimi was appointed to the Board of Directors of Saudi Aramco Upstream Technology Company (SAUTC) as Vice Chairman, in 2017. He is also a Board Member of the Arabian Drilling Company (ADC), Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures, (SAEV) and Saudi Aramco Technology Company (SATC). Previously, he was a Board Member of Saudi Aramco Mobil Refinery Company Limited (SAMREF) 2011-2014.
Mr. Al Naimi has taken part in several leadership training programs, including the Asian Business & Culture Program in 2008, the London Business School Senior Executive Program in 2004 and the President’s Leadership Challenge in 1998.
