Druck’s global Commercial Leader demonstrates benefits of Druck’s technology
As Druck’s global Commercial Leader, Letizia Caselle, leads a team of experts helping demonstrate to customers the benefits of Druck’s technology.

Around nine months ago I entered the wonderful world of pressure measurement technology by joining Druck, a Baker Hughes business. Druck designs, develops and manufactures the world’s most accurate and reliable pressure sensors which are deployed in some of the world’s harshest environments. From the world’s deepest oceans and highest mountains and even outer space, customers reply on Druck technology.
I’ve no plans to become an astronaut, nor go deep sea diving, but while on leave recently, I decided to climb Mount Etna, the tallest mountain in Italy and an active volcano, to see Druck technology in action. I estimate that on 3,403 occasions, representing the 3,403 meter ascent, I questioned what the hell I was doing!
But, it was so worthwhile; the view was incredible, and my self-pride levels were off the scale. And, at the summit, I saw firsthand the impact of Druck's technology – you can see me pointing to the weather station.
'Weather stations all over the world contain Druck technology.'
Weather stations all over the world contain Druck technology. The pressure sensors installed at such high altitudes provide critical data that helps meteorologists predict weather patterns and potential volcanic activity.
One of the most critical parameters to weather forecasting is atmospheric pressure. Our Trench Etched Resonant Pressure Sensor (TERPS) technology is globally recognized for its market leading accuracy and stability – and is widely deployed across the planet to measure atmospheric pressure.
In today's world, where extreme weather events are becoming more frequent, predicting the weather is more crucial than ever. Accurate weather forecasts can save lives, protect property, and help businesses plan more effectively. Whether it's agriculture or aviation, knowing what the weather has in store is crucial for making informed decisions.
Standing at the top of Mount Etna I felt incredibly self-fulfilled both from a personal and professional perspective – it was too good a moment not to share. Who knows, maybe I’ll start hunting down Druck sensors in harsh environments at the weekends – perhaps it’s too early after all to rule out a trip to Mars!
