Loughborough Students Racing Team Gears Up with Druck Technology
Innovation provides a critical advantage in any industry, especially within the motorsport sector where milli-seconds can make a significant difference to results, Druck, a Baker Hughes business, has a proven track record within the motorsport industry working with some major race teams over the past five decades.
Last month Druck welcomed the next generation of engineers to our site to show them what we do at our facility and inspire them to be the future stars of Formula One engineering!

As part of our partnership with Loughborough University, we are one of the key sponsors of the ‘Loughborough University Formula Student Team’. This talented team of individuals designs, develops and builds Formula Student racing cars to compete in the ‘Formula Student National Championships’.
For those that don’t know, Formula Student is Europe’s most established educational engineering competition, which uses motorsport to help inspire students and provides them with key opportunities to enhance and expand their education and knowledge within motorsport engineering and demonstrate the results in a demanding motorsport environment
Supporting them on their journey, Druck donated some of our advanced pressure measurement technology which will help provide accurate and reliable brake pressure data, giving them a key advantage on race day.
Blake Singh, one of Druck’s Training and Development Specialists, took a hands-on approach to upskill the Loughborough University students, by leading a soldering training course with the team giving them critical real-world experience. The team also discussed some of the critical components for the vehicle, including the wiring loom and ancillaries. The skills learnt and honed on the day will enable the Team to develop and produce a more reliable and competitive vehicle to get the edge on the opposition.
Feedback from the Loughborough University students' team was overwhelmingly positive, saying they valued the opportunity to develop their skills in and new and exciting environment!
