Druck volunteers get ‘stuck in’ to improve local park

3 min read

A group of volunteers from Druck’s headquarters in Groby, recently supported Leicester City Council’s plans to improve ‘The Orchards’ park, just 15 minutes’ drive from the Druck site.

Debra Farmer heads up Druck’s Volunteer Group and said: “The Orchards is a hidden treasure, a great open space with some beautiful trees, lovely walks and lots of wildlife.  However, there are elements of the park that require some care and attention...

“So, 15 members of the #DruckFamily spent two hours getting ‘stuck in’.  We got busy digging holes, cutting down branches and helped create a bug habitat under the guidance of Leicester City Council’s Environmental Ranger.

“It was good fun, while at the same time helping to provide a better environment for everyone.”

Debs continued: “There’s a tremendous enthusiasm amongst the Druck Volunteer Team to support our community.

From litter pick-ups, raising funds for Action Homeless, garden clean-ups to bag packing to support local hospice,  LOROS, and lots lots more.

We’re also helping a local school create a recycled greenhouse from plastic bottles and this Summer we’re hosting a Fete to raise funds for several good causes.

“I’m proud to be a part of the Volunteer Team.  It’s a great way to meet new people, have some fun while at the same time help improve our local area and support charities in the local community.”
