Combining cutting and drilling capabilities, the Baker Hughes PathMAKER™ formation mill is custom designed to mill a full gauge casing window and continue drilling, even in hard and abrasive formations, to save you rig time.
While conventional window-making jobs require several trips, costing you time and money, as well as added risk, the PathMAKER formation mill can achieve window exits in difficult reservoir conditions in just one trip.
The formation mill features high-impact polycrystalline diamond compact (PDC) cutters to cut through metal and very hard formations like tight sandstones, anhydrites, limestones, and dolomites. A specially engineered spiral-set cutter alignment reduces vibrations, ensuring accurate performance. And the PathMAKER mill can be run in conjunction with a variety of Baker Hughes downhole drilling tools to save you further trips downhole.
