Drill with confidence in your deeper, hotter, and higher pressure reservoirs with the MAGMA-TEQsynthetic-based invert emulsion drilling fluid system from Baker Hughes.  Formulated to deliver stable rheological and filtration control properties in extreme environments, the MAGMA-TEQ system provides proven performance that extends beyond the temperature limits of standard emulsion systems.

Our high-performance drilling fluid is designed with unique suspension properties for your high-pressure/high-temperature (HP/HT) drilling applications.  Stable at pressures exceeding 40,000 psi (276 MPa) and temperatures greater than 375°F (191°C), the MAGMA-TEQ system avoids the sagging, gelation, and density differentiations commonly observed in extreme conditions.

The system is specifically designed for formulation with commonly available, aromatic-free base oils.  This ensures safer handling while also conforming to environmental regulations in regions around the world, including the North Sea.

The MAGMA-TEQ system can also be weighted up to densities above 18.3 lb/gal (2.2 s.g.) using barite or other weight materials. Working with our drilling fluid experts, you’ll get a MAGMA-TEQ formulation with the right density for your specific drilling environment. Our formulations will not only improve your hydraulics while drilling, but you’ll be able to reach total depth with a stable borehole, good caliper measurements, and minimal mud losses.
