Overview

GaffneyCline™ energy advisory delivers wide-ranging, real-time geomechanics services to optimize your well construction operations.

Our geomechanics experts leverage the Baker Hughes RiskGuard™ real-time geomechanics services to deliver multi-tiered services that provide solutions for specific project needs.

Manage drilling pressures and ECDs

We help you manage downhole pressures with RiskGuard™ drilling pressure management services.

Real-time pore pressure prediction (PPP) services use industry-accepted methodologies utilizing drilling, LWD, mudlogging, and wireline data to mitigate your risks of influx and loss circulation events and optimize casing point selection.

For real-time equivalent circulating density (ECD) management, we monitor your wellbore for hole-cleaning issues to avoid packoffs and swab/surge events, improve sweep efficiencies, and analyze cuttings/cavings for drilling-related issues.

Minimize risks to your wellbore

Through the RiskGuard™ wellbore risk management service, our wellbore stability experts help:

  •  Provide accurate, timely advice for defining a safe mud weight window to ensure stable wellbore conditions for drilling and logging operations.
  • Evaluate real-time LWD data and image logs along with drilling, mud logging, drilling fluids, and wireline information to quickly and effectively communicate remedial solutions that optimize wellbore stability.
  • Generate wellbore stability plots that include minimum and horizontal stress approximations, collapse pressure, rock mechanical properties, corresponding safe mud weight, and ECD data.

Our wellbore stability insights also support real-time drilling optimization by:

  • Monitoring downhole measurements such as annular pressures; drilling dynamics/vibrations; and reaming, circulating, and tripping operations to mitigate drilling inefficiencies and events.
  • Recommending best drilling practices by optimizing ROP, torque and drag, and circulation procedures.
  • Collaborating with geomechanics, drilling fluids, and other services to maintain drilling parameters within the defined safe drilling window.

For each service, we provide daily, risk-focused reports with executive summaries, detailed discussions, and recommendations. We also provide specific plots related to pore pressure prediction, annular pressure data, drilling optimization analysis, and other geomechanics-related data.

We offer our geomechanics services through Baker Hughes Remote Centers of Excellence (RTCoE) or, in special cases, right at your well site. We also customize the service level to match your project's complexity. Our highly qualified advisory teams deploy quickly to best fit your needs during different well production phases, ensuring optimal service support at minimal cost.
