For Yamal LNG, much of the equipment used had to be specially designed to withstand the uniquely harsh arctic conditions—this even included special equipment needed to transport the project modules.

Teams worked around the clock every day to deliver the project on time and on budget. Arctic LNG 2 benefitted enormously from all that experience to arrive at a significantly lower-cost approach. Mr. Gyetvay acknowledged that working in partnership can sometimes be challenging, not only for Novatek, but for all organizations across the industry—but that it’s also fundamental to success.
