Mr. Gutiérrez explained why YPF, the leading energy company in Argentina, chose to operate as a fully integrated company covering the whole energy chain and the client experience.

YPF has oil and gas production, refineries, power generation, and renewables because it wants flexibility as it looks to the future.

YPF is maximizing both the efficiency and value of its conventional resources while also expanding its unconventional operations. Mr. Gutiérrez said that YPF is committed to a transformation program that looks for efficiency, value and growth initiatives across the entire organization. This is achieved, for example, by bringing people from other sectors together to improve supply chain, procurement, etc. 

In partnership with GE, YPF will grow its power business from 2 to 5 GW thus becoming one of the top three generators in the Argentine market.
