Doing this is not easy.
We’re putting an operating system into place. It’s about adopting a venture capital mentality. Your strengths are your weaknesses in this area. You have to separate these new ventures from your operating rhythm. The focus is on learning how to build new capabilities. It takes bold thinking, willingness to challenge the obvious, and tapping into the abilities of different people to really drive this innovation.
We have to create a capability in our companies for people to try things and fail quickly. We need to have a safe place for people to experiment.
