- Drilling operations requiring high ROP
- Formations with an elevated risk of damaging drillstring vibrations or dysfunctions
Don’t let a challenging formation slow your progress to TD. The i-Trak™ automated rate of penetration optimization service from Baker Hughes helps you reliably reach target depth in fewer drilling days with less risk to downhole tools.
Quickly identify sub-optimal drilling to accelerate operations
The i-Trak automated ROP optimization service identifies problems before they lead to costly drilling tool damage, poor borehole quality, and significant reductions in penetration rates.
The service automatically receives signals from downhole tools and surface sensors as soon as a problem event is detected. The service displays these events, which include axial, lateral, tangential, and stick-slip vibrations or dysfunctions on a stability heatmap. This map also displays the optimal combination of drilling parameters, including changes to weight on bit and revolutions per minute, to improve ROP and minimize tool damage. Your designated i-Trak users then review the heatmap, confirm prescriptive procedures, and send commands to the bottomhole assembly through the i-Trak automation server on the rig.
Automate corrective actions
You can set up the i-Trak automated ROP optimization service to run in a closed-loop control mode, which automatically transmits updated drilling parameters to your advanced drilling control systems. The service also helps improve your current drilling operation by importing legacy data from previous runs or exporting data to build a digital offset process for drilling wildcat wells.
