Nancy Buese

Nancy Buese is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Baker Hughes. She joined the company in November 2022 and brings more than 30 years of finance leadership to the role.

Buese previously served as Executive Vice President (EVP) & CFO for global mining company Newmont Corporation since 2016. Prior to Newmont, she spent more than a decade as EVP & CFO of MarkWest Energy Partners, a leader in gathering, processing, and transportation of hydrocarbons, as well as EVP & CFO of MPLX (a subsidiary of Marathon Petroleum) following MPLX’s acquisition of MarkWest. Buese began her career in public accounting, working for more than a decade and rising to be a partner at Ernst & Young until 2003. 

Buese has served on the Board of Chubb Group since 2023. She previously served on the Board of Williams Companies from 2018-2023, and she served on the Board and chaired the audit committee for UMB Financial Corporation from 2009-2017. 

Buese has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration from the University of Kansas and is a Certified Public Accountant.
