Overview

Maintain reliable production control from your subsea wells, regardless of water depth or process conditions, with Aptara tree systems. Part of the proven Aptara product portfolio, Aptara trees are available in a range of configurations to optimize production for the life of your field—all while lowering your CAPEX and OPEX.

Wide-ranging functionality meets ease of installation

The Aptara-L (AXTL) subsea tree incorporates several design innovations to maximize uptime and ensure reliability—in a tree that is 30% smaller and lighter than traditional deepwater subsea trees.

  • The AXTL’s concentric bore eliminates the need for a special dual-bore riser and enables the use of OCTG-type landing strings—affording simpler installation and easier access to the wellbore.
  • The AXTL accommodates several downhole functions, including well safety valves, chemical injection, intelligent completions, and electric/fiber optic functions, for further functional flexibility and improved well performance.
  • Coupling the AXTL to ourIntegrated Process Module (IPM) lets you combine the flowmeter and choke into a single, smaller, and more lightweight body for ease of replacement.
  • The AXTL’s 7-in. production bore makes it ideal for large-bore gas developments, while maintaining a tree compact design that helps reduce spooling and improves flow assurance from your well.

Aptara-H horizontal tree system (AHXT).
Large-bore capacity in a lightweight design

The Aptara-H horizontal tree system (AHXT) leverages our three decades of horizontal tree experience and market-leading technology innovations. Engineered in a 7-in. nominal size, the AHXT delivers a lightweight tree solution with large production bore features and functionality.

  • The AHXT builds on the core configurability of the Aptara design by combining the horizontal tree head with the same IPM technology used on the AXTL—maximizing the sharing philosophy while accommodating your subsea field’s size and weight demands.
  • The AHXT includes the proven DW-HTH4 Tree connector, which provides a high working bending capacity of up to 5.25 million ft-lb and fatigue resistance for improved safety and reliability in deepwater operations that use dynamic positioning vessels.
  • The system’s tubing hanger configurability allows for easy installation of various downhole features—including well safety valves, chemical injection, intelligent completions, and electric/fiber optic functions—for further functional flexibility and improved well performance.

Flexible deployment options from a low-cost, compact tree

The Aptara-C (AXTC) system uses an innovative flow arrangement that combines a light, compact vertical tree system with the flexibility of a modular Life of Field (LoF) tree cap system.

  • The AXTC is engineered to a nominal size of 5 in. and accommodates a range of well management tools, including flowmeters, chokes, and additional sensors.
  • The system is configurable for multiple well types—from high-producing wells to wells experiencing significant production declines.
  • The system can be used directly on the wellhead with an annulus isolation device within the tubing hanger or with a tubing head spool incorporating traditional-style valves for annulus access.
  • The LoF cap can be simply replaced when well conditions change at any stage of the well’s production life and repurposed in another well. This ease of replaceability and repurposing gives you greater operational efficiency while lowering your early-stage CAPEX and ongoing OPEX as field demands change.

Every Aptara tree design is engineered for 10,000 psi, 10,000 ft (3,048 m) water depth, and operating temperatures ranging from 0°F to 300°F (-18°C to 149°C)—all in a simplified configuration using fewer components. The end result: you’re assured a reliable tree solution for any field development.
