Overview
The Vanquish™ Barrier Plug (VBP) is a bidirectional barrier device that is remotely opened with hydraulic pressure. It can be integrated as a part of the completion string or installed below a packer. The VBP design relies on a patented glass plug breaking mechanism to function as a reliable barrier and then shatter when intended hydraulically. Its simple design and field deployment success ensures intervention-less packer setting and barrier function in oil and gas completion operations.
When the glass plug is pumped open, restoring a large bore ID, the glass plug shatters into small pieces less than 5mm, and the safe pump open operation leaves minimal debris in the wellbore. The opening pressure can be customized from 2000-7500psi depending on the well application pressure, and adjustment can be made in the field. The plug is offered with common tubing sizes.
