We care about customers getting their assets back fast because we know downtime can be costly. A rental unit credit is included and offered while a customer’s system is in for repair.

Having a routine preventive maintenance plan in place and records of all repairs helps customers plan for longer term costs associated with the upkeep of their equipment.

As part of the plan, customers will have a yearly preventive maintenance scheduled by the Waygate Technologies Service team. By evaluating the system and fixing minor repairs early on, this will help prevent costly repairs in the future. Discounts on additional repairs and accessories needed for repairs are also included.

Customers will have guaranteed repair coverage should you need it and won’t have to deal with unexpected purchasing hassles, maintenance or repair costs.

What’s included in the Visual Care Plan
Preventive Maintenance

One preventive maintenance per system is included in both Visual Care Basic and Visual Care Plus plans. During the preventive maintenance we will conduct a full evaluation of the system, software updates, tip measurement verification and tip cleaning, and minor articulation section steering adjustments. If deemed necessary, the folllowing repairs are included under preventive maintenance: braid & sheath replacement, tip optic threaded thimbles replacement, tip optics seals replacement, and any handset related repairs.

Accidental Damage Coverage*

Visual Care Basic: Any repairs needed outside of the preventive maintenance tasks will be quoted separately.

Visual Care Plus: Up to one (1) full system repair is included throughout the duration of the contract.

Additional Repair Discounts

Visual Care Basic: Outside of the preventative maintenance that is included, up to one (1) repair is eligible to receive a discount* off Seller’s standard repair rates.

Visual Care Plus: Outside of the preventative maintenance and accidental damage that is included, up to two (2) repairs are eligible to each receive a discount* off Seller’s standard repair rates.

*Discounts off repairs are in accordance to plan type selected.

Extended Repair Warranty

For both Visual Care Basic and Visual Care Plus plans, Buyer will receive a one (1) year warranty on repairs of their equipment.

Discounted Accessories

Discounts on accessories are included in both Visual Care Basic and Visual Care Plus plans and the discount is in accordance with the plan type selected. Accessories elligible for discount include acessories needed for repairs, such as new tips and battteries, and select accessories such as shiping and storeage cases, cleaning kits, and more.

Upgrades Discount

Discounts on upgrades are included in both the Visual Care Basic and Visual Care Plus plans and the discount is in accordance with the plan type selected. The discount can be applied towards both hardware and software upgrades.

Training Credits

Visual Care Basic: Three (3) training credits to be used at any point during contract period. 

Visual Care Plus: Five (5) training credits to be used at any point during contract period.

Rental Unit Credit

A rental unit credit* is included in both Visual Care Basic and Visual Care Plus Plans.

*The rental unit credit is subject to regional rental unit availability. In the event a rental unit credit cannot be offered, a discounted rental unit will be offered instead.


Why is Preventive Maintenance important?

A Preventive Maintenance check is a critical element of the Visual Care Basic and Visual Care Plus Plan. Listed below are a few examples of the services that are included in the check and describes how they help prevent future costly repairs.

Braid and Sheath Replacement

When deterioration starts on the Braid & Sheath, the leak integrity becomes compromised. Left unrepaired, debris and liquids can migrate inside, potentially affecting the optical lens train, fiber optics (light guide), and the camera wire harness, compromising the camera head and resulting in a more costly repair.

Articulation Steering Adjustments

During the Preventive Maintenance visit, minor articulation steering adjustments will be performed to improve the steering performance.

Tip Optic Threaded Thimbles Replacement

By replacing threaded tip optic thimbles that have become compromised, we are helping to prevent potential future threading issues of the camera head, helping to avoid a costly camera head replacement.

Tip Optic Seals Replacement

By periodically replacing loose or missing tip optic seals, you are increasing the longevity of your tips. If left unreplaced, you risk poor image quality due to dirt, debris, or moisture getting into the optical path between the camera head and tip. This can compromise the image quality by creating a blurry image and/or glare due to light straying into the optical path.

What is Visual Care Plan?

Visual Care Plan is a comprehensive service plan for video borescope users, intended to help you decrease equipment downtime, save on repairs, conserve assets, and maintain peace of mind.

How does the Visual Care Plan work?

There are two types of Visual Care Plans for you to choose from, you can choose between our Basic Plan or our even more comprehensive Plus Plan. Both plan types will cover one system, a system is defined as one probe and it's handset. One annual preventive maintenance check is included in both plan types and will be scheduled by Waygate Technologies team at your convenience.

What is included in the Visual Care Plan?

One annual preventive maintenance visit, one accidental damage coverage*, repair discounts, prioritized repair response, extended repair warranty, discounted accessories & upgrades, up to five training credits, rental unit credit or rental unit discount, and additional probe coverage at a discounted rate.

*Available with the Visual Care Plus Plan

How do the training credits work?

Training credits are included in both the Visual Care Basic and Visual Care Plus Plans and are eligible to be redeemed with Seller’s predetermined training modules. All training modules are live, instructor lead, and will be conducted via distance learning. One training credit per person can be used to register a student for Seller’s eligible training modules.

Which systems are eligible to be covered?

Only standard Mentor Visual iQ Video Borescopes, Everest Mentor Flex VideoProbe™ and Standard XL Vu (model D) Video Borescopes are eligible to be covered under the Visual Care Plan.
